Pale lemon to very pale gold. Lots of nutty oak on the nose, some ripe stone fruit, yellow peaches and slightly cooked apples and pears. Soft lemon fruit on the palate with very tight, mineral phenolics, creating austere, linear length and lovely clean, elegant acidity. A fresh Rolle that has had some barrel ageing and managing to both retain the freshness and a touch of extra weight. Some saline, smoky tannins on the finish along side the fresh fruitiness rather than integrated, and more grip than charm. Drink now if you like ripe, fresh whites - I would certainly finish the glass and happily order another one,. but would also suggest some extra ageing.
