Domaine de la Croix Éloge (Rosé)

Very pale coral-shell pink. A slightly smoky and restrained nose opens up to beautifully fragrant stone fruit, orange blossom, and white citrus. The palate leans toward delicate elegance - reminiscent of a fine white wine -with a whisper of wild strawberry and redcurrant over a saline, linear minerality. While the style is relatively austere and windswept, there is remarkable concentration and "solar" ripeness. Finishes with chalky acidity and firm phenolics. Summery and evocative, though this is a serious wine that would benefit from another year in bottle or a light decant to allow its structure to fully shine.
