Domaine Gavoty Premier Rôle (White) 2023 - OutstandingVery pale lemon yellow. Scented lemon confit and white exotic floral aromas; somewhat restrained at first, it opens up to very pretty white flowers, a touch of eucalyptus, bitter almonds and a whisper of honeyed beeswax. Slightly oily texture on the palate, yet beautifully silky and wonderfully firm. Very ripe melon and white peach fruit, a touch of Sorrento lemon and slightly peppery tropical white flowers. Weighty oak structure with salted lemon and chalky acidity. Exceptional intensity and ripeness; zesty, refreshing, elegant and charmingly mineral. Long and powerful but with beautiful elegant restraint. An uncompromising Provence white that does not feel the need to be brutishly citrussy, nor overly ripe and oaky.
