Domaine la Camarette Ventoux (Rosé)

Semi-translucent, surprisingly brickish edges. Slightly salty red berry aromas, raspberry jam and lots of wild strawberries. Full of southern Rhone joy, lots of exuberant Grenache fruit, struggling acidity but a juicy vivacity. Succulent with hints of black chocolate. Slightly saline on the finish, with bucketloads of juicy red berries and a healthy dose of garrigue and thyme flowers. A little softer maybe than Chateauneuf-du-Pape, but still offers that beautiful Grenache fruit with a herbal saline edge and pithy acidity. It is not taking itself quite as seriously or heavily, giving it a wonderful ease and charm. Very beautiful southern Rhone.
