    Jas Monges Sainte-Victoire (Red) 2024 - Highly RecommendedTasted by Elizabeth Gabay MW & Ben Bernheim

    Semi-translucent ruby. Perfumed red fruit. Elegant, almost ethereal, even cloud-like on the palate, with elegant tannins that seem to float above the rest of the wine. Concentrated and full-bodied but still pretty, lacy, dripping in peppery spice, fresh ginger and cedarwood. Vibrant acidity leading to textured, slightly phenolic tannins on the finish. Tight, concentrated, powerful and exceptionally youthful - give this a year to harmonise, at least. Slightly mineral on the finish, silky but firm. Fresh, concentrated and behind-the-scenes powerful.

We’re mother and son duo Elizabeth Gabay MW and Ben Bernheim. Between us, we’ve been involved in the wines of southern France for over 30 years. Elizabeth started working with the wines of Provence back in 1986, and for the past 20 years has lived on the eastern edge of south-east France.
