La Bastide Blanche Bandol (Red) 2022 - Highly RecommendedRuby red. Restrained dark fruit aromas with red berries and floral pot pourri. Delicate and elegant. Fresh crunchy red berry fruit on the palate features black cherries, blackcurrants, and the vaguest hint of wild strawberries and damsons. A nice balance of red fruit crispness, avoiding any green notes. Dark fruit ripeness, black chocolate bitterness and dark blue floral notes balanced by textured rough velvet, tannins, saline notes, and flinty minerality. Polished, smooth, and silky with powdery elegance all the way to the finish. The dark, chewy, concentrated tannins are Inky and dark and still dominating. Not a big powerful wine, but very pleasant. Don't be afraid to leave this a year or two in the cellar.
