Le Grand Cros Esprit de Provence (Red) 2022 - RecommendedSemi-opaque ruby. Lots of struck match and slightly reductive Syrah notes on the nose. Bright red fruit, hedgerow, raspberries and fairly generous spice. Slightly leafy and peppery on the palate with crunchy, slightly drying tannins. A bit too varietal and fresh for my taste - lacks complexity and depth, but is a very pretty wine nonetheless. Not a bad wine, but not the kind that will convince a rosé lover to start believing that Provence's reds are the future.
