Les Béates Lou Misto (White) 2023 - OutstandingVery pale lemon. Stony, saline aromas with pretty white flowers, honeysuckle, mountain flowers, and garrigue. On the palate, a hint of bitter almond, pears, and apples alongside gently honeyed oak, menthol, and wild fennel. Cool, clean, crisp acidity that is driven but exceptionally powerful and delicate. The delicate fruit flavours complement rather than fight, enhancing the elegance and lending prettiness to the freshness. Incredibly refined, saline, and blossomy. Beautifully Provencal and full of sunshine, with a precision and a rugged minerality that really suggest Mistral and lavender rather than mimosas and beaches. This is what Provence rosé or white or blanc-de-noir should aspire to, and does it matter which it is?
