Mas de la Dame Coin Caché (Red) 2023 - ExceptionalTasted by Elizabeth Gabay MW & Ben Bernheim

Semi-opaque ruby mahogany red. Delicate cedar oak and pretty leafy, vegetal, woody notes on the nose - you can hear the wood pigeons in the pine trees. [ed. do wood pigeons sit in pine trees?] Gorgeous, intense deep dark fruit, jammy red berries and wild strawberries. Rich, ripe and juicy with a hint of garrigue, wild fennel and mint. The tannins are structural, rugged, very well-integrated - they're chalky, lightly woody, spicy, a little pippy, but cocooned in ripe and extremely well extracted red berries. Beautiful balance, depth, ripeness and mouthwatering moreishness the ripeness has some confident sweetness. Absolutely charming, gorgeously intense and powerful - but still squeezing in plenty of acidity and a remarkable elegance. Perfectly poised, elegant, charming and classy.
