Ruffinatto L’Infante (White) 2023 - OutstandingPale lemon white. Honey, pineapple and remarkably perfumed on the nose with lots of white stone fruit, pretty white flowers and a hint of stony, pebble-y minerality. Floral, exuberant and pretty. Sadly, charm does not initially carry on to the palate as the oak is holding the wine in tight control. A little closed and needs airing to open up. With airing, this wine becomes magnificent, revealing lovely freshness and delicacy backing up the fruit. It does not stand out for oak or heft or opulence, instead opting for remarkable concentration and an exceptional balance of floral perfume with freshness and delicacy. Very modern and very pretty. Tropical, delicate, lacy, almost ethereal. Chuck in 5% dark Syrah and call it a rosé and you would sell out instantly.
