Château d’Estoublon 1489 – Roseblood (Rosé)

Very pale coral. Restrained on the nose other than some smoky oak. On the palate, it is quite rich and supple, with vibrant acidity jostling for attention against a chalky spritz and soft, round, slightly sweet oak. Quite youthful and zesty. Zippy, fresh, and crisp with some pretty yellow stone fruit and a touch of taut red apples. It lacks a bit of confidence, seemingly unsure whether it is prioritising freshness or complexity, and I would have liked to see more depth, concentration and fruit to keep up with the oak.
