Château des Sarrins Secret Rosé (Rosé) 2021 - OutstandingGolden onion skin pink. Gently honeyed oak on the nose. On the palate, surprisingly tannic and dry - not a soft vanillin-type oak, but a firm, tight oak structure. Already 5 years old, so youth is not necessarily an excuse, but decanting allows more fruit to reveal itself. There is lovely fresh, almost saline acidity, and lovely weight and balance. With time, the red berry and strawberry fruit comes to the fore and balances the strong oaky character, driven by weight and structure rather than pure fruit. Ends on black liquorice and serious intensity.
