Pale copper. Very closed on the nose, even after being open for a few days. Rather dilute, chalky acidity, some dry tannins and restrained on the palate. After a couple of days, more concentrated weight emerges, but it is still very restrained. Firm dark mineral structure with some fresh, but not lush apricot fruit. Very little acidity, but it does not feel flabby because there is very little alcohol or fruit either. Fresh citrus saline minerality and discrete oaky structure. Floral charm, stone fruit, lovely concentration and silkiness eventually become apparent after decanting. A nice wine, but not showing any of the wow factor noted in previous years. Possibly the vintage, or still far too young.
